This was sung a lot by the Spurs fans at the Derby game. Really cracked me up :-) What's with the "your father washes elephants". The last bit about his mother is fine :-), but bloody hell. where did the elephant bit come from?

Didn't see any actions. Apparently some people think the song is offensive. Can't honestly think why.

There has been a lot of chat on SC about whether or not it is racist. I think that, although it is funny, it must be racist. I don't think they'd be singing the song if Adebayor was a white boy from Denmark.
Unless of course his Dad does actually work in a zoo and wash elephants. The truth is always a good defence.

Nah, the scumbell one extremely bad taste, this one is just plain funny. Okay, calling someone's mother a whore is offensive but such a comment is pretty common in most cultures so the shock value is lessened. And washing elephants - well, someone has to.

| Yeah, I can see the argument that its racist, but don't agree. Still, so far I haven't sung it, since, if a lot of people do hear it as racist, I'd don't want to offend. (Well, I want to offend gooners but not in that way).
Not sure it's racist though. Compare, for example, the Ji Sung Park song that ManU fans sing (about their own player). Is that racist because it plays on a stereotype?

I agree with Dannyboy. The 'mother's a whore' bit isn't racist, however reference to washing elephants is. I've heard a lot worst but even so, I won't be singing this particular song. |

So your job at London Zoo is to look after the elephants. How on earth can washing the big buggers be classed as racist? Are we not going all soft and over-the-top PC here? The racism bit never even occured to me when it was sung at Derby - just thought it was funny. Ah well. Let's stick to Tottenham clap clap clap.
