| 1. Who is going?
2. Will it be possible to meet up, or is it the type of place where you just bump into people? _________________ The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. | A couple of seven's virgins eh? Well after all the hype you are going to be massively dissappointed. The sevens is a pretty drab lifeless affair, the only good thing about it is that you get a marching band on the sunday. If I were you I'd save yourselves a weekend of misery and go to an art gallery instead.
btw, if you do take my valuable advice I will take your tickets off your hands at half of the face value, and that is me doing you a favour.... |

| OK - I'm there all three days.
You have access to the whole stadium but once the popular south stand reaches capacity, which is usually very early, you can't enter until someone exits.
Personally I don't bother with south stand - better off in the lower section of the east / west stand. The only problem here ( I haven't been for 2 years ) is vast areas are cornered off for corporate sponsors etc.
You can only take you beer to your seat in the south, north and lower east/west section.
Best bet is to text / phone once your in the ground. Assuming Ozspur can obtain a ticket I'm guessing his clan will remain stationed in the same location. If so, let's make that our sihk rendezvous. John and I spoke about this before and both agree the best location is close to the South African fans who in the lower east stand ( ?? ) who strike a right balance between atmosphere, drinking and enjoying the rugby.
My intention is to take it easier on Sunday and watch from the upper section. |

| | I agree with Jez. Forget about the South Stand. If you go out for a piss, you lose your place. You can get the right all-round expereince in the lower stands on the east and west - beers at your seat, easy to get back in and out your seat, decent enough view. |

If you're going into the south stand ;
a). bring a spare shirt for when you get the jug of beer poured over your head.
b). A crash helmet for when the plastic beer jug fight starts. ( don't believe me, google it !!)
c). Plenty of cash to buy full jugs of beer, not for drinking but to throw at one another. |

There was a time I'd agree. I shall avoid the south stand with the other Grannies. |

| Pretty sure I'm going to be in the top left of the South stand with the Kowloon RFC boys. Look for the rats and the smurfs. _________________ The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. | Even though I know nothing about Rugyby 7s, I am going to attend a Rugby 7s luncheon organised by Aust Cham at Marriott at lunch today. Apparently there are 4 guests:
John Bentley Eric Rush David Campes Kobus Wiese
Don't know anything about them though... _________________ To dare is to do |

| I attended the South African Rugby dinner last night at the Football Club. Kobus Wiese was the main speaker. Ex-SA Lock Forward. An absolute monster of a bloke. Funny "oak" as he's got a few good stories to tell.
The SA 7s team has been doing very well in other tournaments this season. They're 2nd in the league but way behind NZ. SA worth an outside punt to win the tournament.......if you can find a bookie to take your cash!!!! |
