I am bloody loving Football Manager again. After a 3 or 4 year hiatus, I have once again caught the bug and am doing pretty well as Spurs.

I shall now bore you with the details.

First season: finished 8th, couple of decent cup runs

Second season: I am 2nd, clear of everyone else, 1 point off ManU, with 10 or 12 games to go. Also still going strong in FAC and UEFA and went out LC in semis.

Berba now absolutely loves me and has scored 40 goals in 38 games. Several others list me as favoured personnel.

Significant Signings:
Ezequiel Garay
Carlos Kameni
Juan Roman Riquelme
Andrej Arshavin
Rafael van der Vaart

(Basically a new midfield)

Sold:
Jenas
Chimbo
Robbo
O'Hara
Bent
Dawson
and some youth players

all I need is to get a top DM. I got bids in for Pirlo and a couple of other tops CMs for around 20mil but can't get contracts through. Villa won't even consider selling me Barry even for 20 mil.

10M is enough to land him but the only problem will be the work permit

I like JJ and think we should keep him, but he's too inconsistent on FM
Bent is shit on FM and gets sulky when he doesn't play. I cashed in on him before his value dropped too much. Keano and Berba are amazing.

8th in 1st year is ok! You need to win the players, fans and board over as an inexperienced manager.
In my 2nd year I am pushing strongly for the title. Pretty much a 2 horse race between me and ManU


Interestingly, I have more or less left the defence and attack along and invested loads of money in midfield. Steed, Hudd and Lennon still feature, but the big bucks on Van der Vaart (20mil), Arshavin (10mil) and Riquelme (13mil) were well worth it and they're all unstoppable.

The only prob is having to play such an attacking formation (as is the spurs way!). I've scored 20 more league goals than anyone else, but ship a few at the back!

He's worth getting as he plays for a shit club so he's interested in signing. Same as van der Vaart. Unfortunately Chelski beat me to Modric.

OK, second season finished.

Missed out on the League title by a mere 3 points!

I finally got a DM - fella called Miguel Veloso from Sporting. Amazing.
Garay got the hump so I sold him and bought Steven Taylor from Newcastle.

IN: Veloso DM (Sporting)
Taylor DC (Newcastle)
Quaresma LM/RM
Bratu CF (Stade Rennes)

OUT: Garay, Hutton, Ohara, Lee, Rocha, Staltieri

Started season 3 pretty well with a big transfer kitty. Won my first Champs League game away at Sevilla

UEFA - Qtr
Accolades: runner-up, manager of season
Berba - Player of the Year and Top Scorer in Europe
