I see no mention on the forum of the game tomorrow night. Is this match just a total waste of time? I presume it is supposed to be some Grand Opening for the new Wembly Stadium? Seems the best half of both squads will be missing. Not much to be achieved really. Perhaps they would have been better to treat it like a testimonial game, more of an exhibition match that didn't involve any Premier League players at all?? I can't see it being of much benefit to England and their preparations for the Euro 2008 qualifiers.

I think the New Wembley was officially opened by the England v Brazil in the summer

So what's this game in aid of? Seems strange to be playing friendlies so soon into the season.

get together ahead of two crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers in a few weeks... but really not bovvered about it... we got enuff going on at our club to worry about.

It is the day designated for international games by UEFA. There will be few Euro 08 qualifiers and international friendlies all over the place.
