It was the right thing to drop Robbo. Too much of a liability. The mistake was not selecting James.

You don't throw a kid into a big international game.

Lescott and Richards in defence. Surely he could have picked two experienced defenders over them.

It's a sad state of afairs when people are clamouring for Calamity James to be given the ENO jersey. Ditto Sol Campbell and Lescott being given the 5 and 6 jerseys. And as for Lampard and Gerrard together in midfield, don't get me started.

I do believe Robbo should start the match. Carson is the 3rd choice keeper at Liverpool (beaten by the 45 yarder freekick in Hong Kong remember?) and was shipped out to Villa. I have looked closely at the performance of other keepers in the wake of Robbo's mistakes and it is apparent to me that Carson, James and Green all made mistakes but they were lucky that their mistakes were not highlighted by the media.

Not that I am defending Robbo, but he is ENO although he is only ENO by default.
