[quote="StewHK"]If Twiglet was there without his son, he probably would of been the most vocal person in the stands (especially after a few beers!). affraid

Thats why the wife insisted I took him along Crying or Very sad Mind you, it was worth it to see him join the chorus of Come on you Spurs Very Happy

Harv,
Where did twiglet come from??

Thats a long story - Back in 1971, my Mum wore the trousers in our house and decided (being German) she wanted to call her first son Hartwig. My Dad, young and in love, was agreeable to most anything she said. At school, Hartwig, being apart from anything else unpronouncable was shortened to twig and then twiglet. Harvey, incidentally, is my surname. Hartwig Harvey - My mum is excused - I still haven't forgiven the old man! Shocked

ok - seeing as my cover was blown last night and i'm possibly delusional. I am not infact Ossie Ardiles.

I'm Paul (good to meet some more tottingham fans last night). I, as all of you, am a spursaholic. This is my first meeting. I was born with blue and white blood in the 70s. I was shipped out to Hong Kong in 87. Despite the distance from London and the ups and down, my support has never waivered. And my wife hates it!

Current goal: make sure my young son NEVER supports the gooners

affraid

First, thanks for setting up this forum. Excellent to have a common site for all HK Yids.
As for me, my first game at WHL was in 1961, but to my eternal shame, I simply can't remember who we were playing. In fact, to be very honest, I didn't get to see much of the game but was simply blown away by the size of the crowd. My whole family were/are Spurs fans, so there was no chance of me being anything other than a yid.
Spent my teenage years in the Park Lane End and dodging Millwall fans whenever I returned home from the Lane - the dangers of growing up in Lewisham!
Special moments - too many to list but every Cup Final I went to was magical.
Worst moments - the insanity of Rotterdam back in 74, and losing to Coventry in 87.
I left England in 1972 and have spent all my working life out of England. Have been in HK for 7 years now, but prior to that lived in Brisbane - hence the name ozspur.
I try to get back to England occasionally, making sure I get a few games in. This season I had the misfortune of seeing us lose away at Bolton and at home to Everton. However, I did see us beat Santander and Sheff Utd.
Final comment, I actually hate Chelski much more than the gooners, and Wet Spam's not too far behind, but above all my love for all things Tottenham outweighs the hatred.
Also member of Spurs Odyssey and the Spurs List (google groups) - both fine forums.

H.K.Hung (THFC1882) - support Tottenham since 1981. Webmaster of the only Chinese Spurs website in the world (www.spurs.hk). Favourite player: Hoddle ... simply the king of White Hart Lane.

As a fanatic supporter, I was at the Lane several times since 1995. The most memorable moment is my current visit. We were 0-2 down against Sevilla at HT in the 2nd leg of UEFA Cup, and the lads continued to support our team (discontinued "Martin Jol's Blue Army for 30 mins in the 2nd half). Very touching moment and excellent atmosphere. Luckily, we drew 2-2 and I avoided to see the second Spurs defeat at the Lane in European competition.

Hi I'm James. Met most of you fellas last night I believe.
I've supported spurs since the early 80s, as soon as I knew what footy was. I'm from Reading, but my folks are both Londoners and my old man is a huge footy fan, but not of spurs. Started going to games in the early 90s and always try to fit one in during annual trips home - the last one being a dire away match at Fulham!
Been out in HK for 3 years, working in education.
Have played footy a few times with GDG, who introduced me to this group.

No problem. If you want to quote something that you're pasting in from outside the site, you can click "post a reply" and one of the options above the text box is "Quote", which will automatically insert the quote brackets for you and again you put your text in between.

Eric, Spursaholic since 1971. Father took me to see the Mighty Lillywhites play at Scumbury. Chiv scored the equaliser and that was it for me. Completely hooked. I still have my season ticket but last season was the first year I'd missed since 1977. I desperately miss WHL, but meeting you guys this past 12 months has gone a very long way to making up for it. Thank you.

Fav Spurs moment? '91 Cup Semi. I get goose bumps thinking about it even as I write. And the '84 Uefa cup final - pure, unadulterated joy on the terraces. Oh, and the '81 Final replay - I wasn't there but remember the whole family at home celebrating long into the night.

What else? Erm........I like a drink and I like to sing. Usually the two go together......you may have noticed at the 7s a few weeks back. bounce

Great to see you all there last night. I hope the group and the forum get bigger and stronger. And I hope we keep Berbatov forever king
