Sacked.

This paragraph from the BBC's editorial notes Spurs' role in his downfall.

"Grant had moments when he deserved criticism. He badly mismanaged the
Carling Cup final defeat against Spurs, and the substitution of Joe
Cole after he scored two goals at Spurs was the catalyst for the
concession of two important points."

His biggest downfall was Terry missing his penalty. I don't think Chelsea would have sacked him had they won the Champions League.

Agree though he did get it badly wrong in the two games against Spurs.

Another big downfall was not sub in a big match player, Shevchenko but sub in a 15M rubbish striker, Anelka...

Grant's appointment was one of the most misguided, inappropriate hires in Premier League history. On a par with Gross at Spurs. Completely out of his depth, no charisma and generally a boring old git.

Abramovitz has only himself to blame. The next appointment will be crucial for the Chavs. If the next manager doesn't bring Premier League and/or CL success in the next season or two, then I can easily see the Russian mafioso pissing off to do other things with his pocket money. Now THAT would be funny!

It really was the worst place to watch football! If you were in the wrong section you were 100 yards away from the bloody pitch! terrible! the wheelchair bound supporters had plenty of room though.

Not if you sit in the car! You can drive to whereever the ball is. Have you seen Lennon darting past Ashley Cole on the touchline, only to be overtaken by a Honda Civic?
