THE NEWS OF THE WORLD are reporting that Darren Bent will complete his £17million move to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.

The Charlton striker will undergo a medical before finalising the switch to White Hart Lane as Spurs beat Liverpool to land the forward.

The 24-year-old had previously rejected a move to West Ham United which would have seen him earn £75,000 a week, but has decided to join a bigger club and work under Martin Jol where he is expected to earn around £40,000 a week.

It is a piece of good news for us to hear that Bent would be a player of Spurs, as we are not sure if Berb. will stay with us or not. However, I think that 17mil dollar is a bit overpriced.

We've yet to see what the final price is but if you believe the press he has taken 30,000 pounds a week pay cut to join us. Not an insignificant amount of money.

Very true. That's 8.4m quid less over a 5 year contract. Says something about how he regards spurs as a big club. You hear of players turning down wannabee clubs offering more money in order to sign for a club fighting honours. Bent obviously believes Spurs are going places. bounce
