| Jose Mourinho insists Tottenham will be among the five teams chasing the Barclays Premier League title next season.
The Portuguese coach wants to regain the crown he won during the first two years of his stay at Chelsea but warns that Martin Jol's side have done enough to ensure they will be title contenders next season.
Spurs have finished fifth in the last two seasons but Mourinho is shrewd enough to include them within the group of clubs capable of winning the league next term.
Mourinho told Chelsea's official magazine: "I think five teams will be fighting for the title.
"I put Tottenham there because they have a group of good players and I don't know why they don't belong to the fight. We are confident. |

| He said something similar last season. The fact is you DO NOT overcome a 30 point deficit in one season. If we continue progressing a shot at the title may be realistic in 2-3 seasons but we are literally miles away from touching the title next season.
Nice though for him recognise our ever growing status in the permiership. |

| | Mind games starting early I see. I can't take seriously anything Mourinho says. |

If they are mind games from him then at least it shows he's sitting up and taking notice to even be bothered to play mind games. He's not playing mind games with Aston Villa or Reading or Man City. Nice to know we're carrying a certain 'fear' element with us. |

| | yep, agree, mind games, no matter how hopeful we are, a title challenge next season? No disrespect, but Noway! Although i still think a top 4 finish is more than hopeful, we are still a good few years away i feel, but the future looks rosy! Next season, my moneys on Man U, the season after? Well, we'll wait and see... |

| | I do agree with him in one aspect. Success breeds higher expectations and pressure is mounting on Spurs to secure a top four position next season or at the very least win a cup. Won't be easy. Require some news faces before this becomes a reality. |
