Premier League strugglers Middlesbrough have been dealt a blow with the news that Egyptian striker Mido, signed from Spurs in the summer, is unlikely to play for the club again before the New Year because of injury. Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has revealed that striker Mido is unlikely to play again until January. The Egyptian star has been suffering from a groin injury that has forced to miss five of Boro's last six games. And Southgate explained that after seeing three different specialists about the problem, former Tottenham striker Mido, 24, has now been told to take a complete break from football.
Southgate told the club's official website: "We were recommended to try a course of injections but unfortunately these have failed to improve his symptoms. Due to the nature of the injury, it's very difficult to put a timescale on it but what Mido needs to do now is rest from playing football or training with the team. The aim of the rehabilitation during this period will be to strengthen the areas around the injury and in particular work on his core stability. Our medical team will work closely with him over the weeks ahead to ensure we eventually have him back fit and raring to go. It is frustrating for Mido and for the rest of us to lose him in this way because we all want him out on the pitch and scoring goals. But the most important thing is that we resolve the problem even if it unfortunately takes longer than we would like." |

| | Horrible rumours on SC that Ledley will play a maximum of 10 games this season and then retire and join the coaching staff next season. |

That doesnt make sense. Why can he only play 10 games and then has to retire. Either he is fit enough to return to PL action or he must retire now. |

I see the logic in that. Apparently the rumour is from an ITK without much credibility.
I'd hope to see Ledley in the first team in January and I pray he is able to play right through to the end of the season, hold the UEFA Cup alof in Manchester and then join me for the celebratory champagne brunch at the Intercon. |
