| Czech Republic striker Tomas Pekhart has hinted that his progress to the Spurs first team is nearer than many though by revealing that the club blocked numerous loan offers for the player.
The up and coming star, currently on international duty with the Czech Republic under 20 side, hit 20 goals in 20 games for Tottenham's academy side in his first season in England since his move from Slavia Prague last summer.
Pekhart claimed there were some loan offers but club boss Martin Jol advised him that it would be more beneficial for the youngster to stay at the club:
"I had some loan offers," claims Pekhart
"When there were some discussions, they said that they would not release me as they were preparing me for first team football, so I hope I will get a chance."
"Perhaps [I would have wanted to go on loan], yes. But when I discussed it with the manager Martin Jol he told me that I am still very young and that it would be better for me to wait." |

| | If Mido and Defoe depart ( which is likely ) I don't feel Spurs will go out of their way to sign a 4th striker. Probably promote from within. |
